URGENT! Coaches sought for JRPC’s
(19.12.07)
Here’s a real opportunity for hockey coaches in the West to coach at a higher level and contribute to the development of the region...
WHA is looking to appoint a number of coaches to work with the newly established
Junior Regional Performance Centres (JRPC’s) that are being initiated in Summer 2008.
The JRPC’s are the regional level structures for the development of high performance in each region of England and replace the existing system of regional squads as part of the ‘Single System’ for Hockey.
For 2008 the age groups will be U15 & U17 (Boys & Girls). Two JRPC’s are proposed in the West region, in the Exeter and Bristol areas; each with a player capacity of 40. The JRPC’s are closely involved with the England Hockey performance staff and represent an excellent opportunity for all hockey coaches to work with these staff in both leading and assisting roles.
U14 Boys & Girls will also be selected to attend a
High Performance Assessment Camp (HiPAC) in Summer 2008.
The coaching commitment we are looking for is two-fold:
1. Availability for
8/9/10 April 2008 | Assessment Days at Millfield (in Street, Somerset – focusing on selection of players in the U14/U15/U17 age groups respectively.
2. Availability
July > October 2008 | 8-10 coaching sessions throughout this period plus tournament matches at the end of October 2008 (Summer commitment and competition structure will be detailed in January 2008).
At this stage, we are asking for expressions of interest...
Please indicate:
1. Assessment Days at which you would be willing to play a role
2. Preferred JRPC venue (Exeter/Bristol/either)
3. Preferred age group
4. Your qualifications – WHA seeks to involve all coaches who have the potential to coach at a higher level. We would expect a minimum qualification of Level 1 and a verifiable commitment to Level 2. A current First Aid certificate and a current Child Protection certificate are required (qualification are needed) and all coaches would be subject to an enhanced CRB check (through England Hockey).
Please e-mail your expression of interest by
18 January 2008 to
